2025

Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal

Governor General of Canada

Awarded annually to the top graduating student at McMaster University’s School of Graduate Studies, recognizing exceptional academic excellence, research impact, and scholarly leadership. Established in 1873, it is one of Canada’s oldest academic distinctions, with only two graduating McMaster students receiving it each year. The medal closed out a doctoral journey spanning AI-driven infrastructure risk research.

Canada's Top Ph.D. Distinction: Vanier Scholar

NSERC Canada

Designation awarded to top-ranking doctoral researchers across Canada, recognizing academic excellence, research potential, and leadership. One of Canada’s most competitive and prestigious doctoral fellowships, it supported his PhD research on improving the resilience of Canada’s infrastructure systems against climate-related risk. He has described the recognition as a turning point that affirmed years of dedicated work.
